	Story Behind the Song The song came to my while I was reading a book about dying. I was going to call it 'The Doctor Did All He Could' and give it a big chorus but I couldn't find a way to fit that in. So I just kep it kind of calm and then wrote lyrics that still pertain to dying. Lyrics ready and able i couldn't bear to watch you lie on that table you were dead in due time i had been feeling ready and able to give your love one more try now you're gone and i feel so unstable clear my thoughts with turpentine i put my flowers on the cold, steel table the one on which you died
