Story Behind the Song
This song was written from Lake Louise, Alberta, and it's a stretch across the mountains, plains and lakes the stood between me and my love back in Toronto.
I'll never forget the day of this session - it was the day that I went broke and lost my girlfriend all in one fell swoop. We did innumerable takes of this to a click track, and the minute we cast off the shackles of that click, we nailed it.
Lyrics
I am lost, at least I know I've won all your lovin' & your charms,
2000 miles from Eden, just a guitar in my arms.
I can feel it now, I can breathe it all day long,
All I see I can hear is your sweet echo, make me numb.
If the mountains won't tumble down, then we'll build a bigger gun,
You are all I ever wanted, I could be someone if you don't let me down.
Kinda get sick of dodgin' these sirens,
On a road.
Kinda get sick of dodgin' these sirens,
On a road to your love.
I am touched by your honesty, you have given me you whole,
Found a home by the mailbox, 'cause your pen has pierced my soul.
I can radiate, we can be one on your floor,
On a road to your love in spring, when I come home to my core.
If the sky should dissappear, then we'll sew a better day,
You are all I ever wanted, but I never dreamed you could melt me this way.
No more sad tunes,
I'm too wasted on you.
If the mountains won't tumble down, then we'll build a bigger bomb,
You are all I ever feared, but I could be someone if you don't let me down.
