	Introduction notes by Rickey Lashley "Soldier's child is a lullaby, though as it was being written it became a sad little lullaby indeed. While writing the melody I noticed a martial quality to the beat and tempo and, so, I began to think of soldiers and parades and of how children love to watch them marching on their way to some adventure. But, as the song evolved, I realized that not every child who watched his or her father march away to war would receive the joy of reunion. Some children , like so many soldiers, are expected to be brave in the face of death. If they do not have their own statue they most certainly, must have their own song."
