Story Behind the Song
The riff at the core of Big Red Button had been kicking about ever since we wrote 'Hitler' as the panj project, once we'd reformed as Threequartersmile it seemed about ready to be turned into a full-on song... This was the first song we wrote as Threequartersmile.
Lyrics
Sunday afternoon,
feels like monday morning
without pain
and it's over soon,
we eat, we sleep, We go to work again,
no refrain
are you hearing it,
are you hearing all the broken words
are you listening
are you hearing what your children heard
sometimes i forget your name
sometimes i forfeit the game
and your home is at risk
from yourselves,
from yourselves,
every day
i would wake up thinking
about you
you don't go away,
nothing takes away a thing like you
not like i'd want it to
are you hearing it
are you hearing all the broken words
are you listening
are you hearing what your children heard
that sometimes i forget your name
sometimes i forfeit the game
and your home is at risk
from yourselves,
from yourselves,
