    Story Behind the Song
    God Takes Care Of Things

I thought of my Mother when I wrote this song. She has always been such an inspiration to me. She's a woman of God and has such a great belief in Him through anything that comes her way. Since the passing of my father, hard times have hit her tremendously, especially finaincially. But through thick and thin she always gets by. Somehow, some way God makes sure of it. She's always had a never ending faith in God knowing that He'll provide the way. We talk on a daily basis, and one day several weeks after losing Dad, we were disscussing hard times, the cost of having to do this and that, making sure bill after bill gets paid, previous obligations from when Dad was still around. She was having some real hard times, and lo and behold a check came in the mail from a woman she barely knew stating that she too had recently lost her husband and knew how hard times could be. Not long after that a couple of more arrived in the mail. God knows our troubles we go through each and every day, and it's just so wonderful how He takes care of us. Part of the lyrics to this song is " He knows our hearts, He knows our mind, He knows the perfect time " How true that
is and will always be. I'm so blessed to have a Mom that believes and has such great faith in God. I'm thankful to God for her, thankful for His love and understanding and all of the inspirations he's given me. God takes care of things.

    Lyrics
Steve W. Smith - God Takes Care Of Things

There's a woman down the road, after the bills
    are paid, there's nothing left.
She barely gets by, she draws enough to support
    herself.
There's a man at the factory who's put in thirty
    some-odd years
He got some news the other day, that had the
    family in tears
There's some children in worn out dirty clothes
Hand me downs, but their Mama knows

    (Chorus)
It's wonderful how God takes care of things
He always knows, exactly what we need
He knows our hearts, He knows our minds,
He knows the perfect time, God, takes care of things

Just when the woman needed it most, a check came
    in the mail.
And the man got some news from the doctor,
    He's doing exceptionally well
And the children, in worn out clothes
Got a new pair of shoes, and new winter coats

    (repeat chorus)
