Lyrics
The Storm
Blue-black clouds
swallowed the sun,
called up the wind
and the storm had begun...
Hail stoned the rooftop
And my window panes,
day turned to night
by the shutters of rain...
Thundering waves
And a deafening roar,
quicksilver flashes
and a knock at my door...
The air was alive,
intrigued by the danger
of the power possessed
by this luminous stranger...
She was escorted in
by dust-devil leaves,
she had come for my soul
and my demons were pleased...
She said, “You have known
in fact you were warned,
one day I'd come back
bringing with me the storm...”
Melting embraces
a tangling web,
we fell to the floor
just missing the bed...
Lightening striking
a skeletons hand
the clutch of a woman
reclaiming her man...
The steam rising up
cooled the fevered ground,
the storm raged on
yet I heard no sound...
just her breathless heart
and the fire in my veins
and the voice in my head
that kept screaming her name...
A whirlpool - a cyclone
the tempests swell
no end, nor beginning
no breaking her spell...
Swirling through time
through a tunnel of mist
I was sure I had died
when at last she said this...
She said, “You have known
you've been shown by the rest
I may not have loved you the most,
but I’ve loved you the best...”
The clouds were now clearing
as she said goodbye,
she turned and she smiled
then pointed to the sky...
The sun had discovered
what the storm left behind,
a crescent of rainbows
two side by side...
two side by side…
two side by side...
two side by side…
