    Story Behind the Song
I turned in a demo of cover tunes hoping to be on a radio show. They announced on the air.."we'd like to thank Debbie Henning for sending in her tape, but we need something original." So I wrote this song about trying to get on the show and it worked! Wrote the words while listening to the show on Sunday; wrote the music on Tuesday 15 minutes before it was recorded as you hear it. Submitted on Thurday and was on the show Sunday! What a week!

    Lyrics
Well I woke up Sunday mornin' to the sound of the thunder

And the feel of the rain cloud that we were under

And the question of who's gonna be on the radio today

"Hey, could it be me? I wonder?"

    Chorus:

Cause the music's always been in me

And now I'd like the world to see

So I'll fake this first song as long

As you'll play it on the radio

I've been a lot of things in my life

From a street musician to a poor mans wife

But now I'm tryin' out ev'rything new

Like writtin' this first song for you

    Chorus

Now there's some brothers and sisters out there

Tryin' to get their tunes on the air

And a great radio station too

Showin' us local jammers they care

    Chorus
