	Story Behind the Song It's not one of my favorites, but people seem to rather like it. At least compared to my other songs. Or maybe they're just being polite. Lyrics The minstrel sings from across the bay Singing all the things he wished he could say He says he loves her, she makes his heart sing But singing of his lost love was all love could bring Chorus What breaks inside us I don’t know But sometimes love has got to go And when it goes it takes its time And leaves us searching to find – our lost love. The poet sits and scribbles away her life And writes of a life with a love she’d like Who makes her happy and makes her life full But dreaming of a fake love was all she could do
