A true story of JBro, Dave and I getting into a car crash on the 4th of July, 2003.
    Credits: Mike Dionne

    Story Behind the Song
A true story of JBro, Dave and I getting into a car crash on the 4th of July, 2003. JBro got a concussion, Dave totaled his car and my face was cut up and burned. Everyone is fine now...no scars or anything.

    Lyrics
Blood is all my eyes can see
    I’m damaged by humanity
    And angered by profanity
    Rising to a new degree
    Tripping on this ecstasy
Of living life and being free
    Overwhelmed by imbecility
    I'm leaving this facility

    Last chances don’t happen
Not in the calm before the accident
    To put on a seatbelt
I’ll never forget how my feel felt
When my knees hit the dashboard
And the rest of my body soared
    Into the unforgiving airbag
    Then having to drag
    Myself out of the seat
The smoke started filling the air
How quickly someone like me turns to prayer
My face pounding and numb at the same time
The front end was totaled so I had to climb
    Out of the driver’s side
    I couldn’t have cried if I tried
    My eye was swollen shut
We were stuck in a rut
    Panic ensued
And none of use knew what to do
Besides the fact that I couldn’t see
    Out of my right eye
On the night of the 4th of July
    Our plans were ruined
    And so was his car
    But the tree was fine
    Like nothing happened at all
Nothing but a leaf would fall
The sweat from my face felt like blood
And it started coming down like a flood
After all was said and done
We were all alive and walking
    We were the lucky ones

    The aftermath
    Sitting in the hospital
    Listening to the ER staff
    Telling me to be calm
And I've just been in an accident
Like I don’t remember the event
    My leg kept shaking faster
    I couldn’t forget the disaster
I see Jbro in a hospital bed rushin
To the next room to get tested for a concussion
Dave’s out in the lobby getting questioned by a cop
Asking him if we were going too fast to stop
They wouldn’t let me see my face
And they kept giving me x-rays all over the place
On my neck and back and knees
And they even gave me a neck brace
They asked where Dave was so I told the nurse
That Jbro and I were hurt a lot worse
    And that Dave was fine
The cop came in and started questioning me
About how fast we were going and how we hit a tree
Our stories checked out and no charges were made
And for a week I had to stay in the shade
So the cuts and burns on my face didn’t scar
Everyone’s fine now except for the car
