Story Behind the Song
The motivation for this song was Dead Eddie's guitar riff during a practice. It unintentionally turned out to be an inverted Aerosmith chorus riff, but we made it our own. The lyrics came out as soon as we heard the riff and it seemed that there was just no other way to write them. The theme is a universal one: Boy meets girl-(falls in sex), girl ignores boy (feels indifference), boy fails chemistry (he is eternally plagued to be a loser). The song also implies that love crosses class bounderies but only in one direction.
Lyrics
They couldn't teach me class in school
Always sleeping in the back of the room
She was high society
A transfer from a catholic school
Monday I saw your luscious legs
(I couldn't go to bed)
Though my future is not looking too bright
(I thought about you last night)
Tuesday was even better yet
Wishing you would notice me
Class room cut-up I'm just a fool
Ravished by my love for you
Wednesday I peaked right up your skirt
(You're such a flirt)
A nickle dropped, a nickel well spent
(I'm your sycophant, yea)
Well it's Friday, and I'm stalking you
Baby that's all you'll let me do
Yea it's friday and I'm coming after you
Until the day your love is true
Now it's the end of the week
And all I got was four sweet peeks
You wrapped me up in your soft white skin
This crazed obsession feels so sweet
But now I know it's just a dream
(Floating by the seams)
Oh, you little slut
(All my dreams got flushed)
Well it's Friday, and I'm stalking you
Baby that's all you'll let me do
Yea it's Friday, and I'm coming after you
Until the day your love is true
Yea it's Friday, and I'm stalking you
Baby that's all you'll let me do
Yea it's Friday, and I'm coming after you
Until the day your love is true yea.
