Story Behind the Song
Basically just a little song about dreams of a love that is too hard to find.
Was recorded in one day with some friends of mine. Recorded on ProTools Harddisc Recording. Basic tracks recorded live in the studio. Lead and backing vocals done in 1-2 takes.
Lyrics
Sweet Loretta (Love Is So Hard To Find)
She fell in love with a rider from a rodeo
That she saw in some crazy late night TV show
Took a look at everything and left it all behind
Just to discover that a lover is so hard to find
Love is so hard to find…
She went down to the town where he was ment to be
But the only thing she ever really got to see
Was his picture in the paper, and his shadow on the wall
And a movie called Sweet Lovin’, where they had it all
Love is so hard to find…
Now she’s sweet old Loretta with the beautiful eyes
Noone’s ever gonna get her, she’s alone ‘till she dies
And she writes him a letter every Saturday night
But he never writes Loretta, and she still don’t know why
Love is so hard to find…
Now she’s standing on the balcony like Juliette
But that Romeo just hasn’t shown up yet
All the years are passing by, and her hair is turning grey
There are voices in the air, and she can hear them say
Love is so hard to find…
Now she’s sweet old Loretta with the beautiful eyes
Noone’s ever gonna get her, she’s alone ‘till she dies
And she writes him a letter every Saturday night
But he never writes Loretta, and she still don’t know why
Love is so hard to find…
