	Story Behind the Song I don't remember much about why I wrote this, I mean, it wasn't something that really happened. The original demo of this was pretty stiff, though it also used classical guitar and recorders. I recall playing it for my friend Rick Verbanc the day I wrote it and his noting of the line "Does understanding have to be it all?". Yeah, I guess understanding has a lot to do with relationships. And breakup are the worst. Lyrics Something Sad (Phillips) originally written in 1977 Slowly falls the emptiness around me. Causiously I wander through the fog. Crying quietly as this cloud surrounds me. Does understanding have to be it all? There's something sad in your eyes. You look away and you rise. Silently the footsteps ever further.
