Story Behind the Song
There really was no motivation behind this song, nor is there a secret meaning. It's just a stupid song Heather wrote for no reason.
This was recorded the same day as "Not My Only One" with the same crappy equipment. Thus, it is not a high-quality recording.
Lyrics
I was bored one day.
I couldn’t play.
I had nothing else to do.
So I took a pen,
Sat down, and then
Wrote a song about my shoes.
I didn’t care
Who else was there
To watch me write down on the sheet,
The reasons why
You’ve gotta like
This clothing for your feet.
They keep the rest of the world from smelling
The odors your feet emit.
About your choice of shoes, your folks may be yelling,
But deep inside, they must admit that
Shoes make my world go ‘round.
They make me feel so safe and sound.
Much more stylish than hats will ever be.
Cheerio, I’ll drink to that, you see
Shoes are my bestest friends.
I hope their dynasty never ends.
They light up my day.
I hope they never go away.
I love the way
My shoes are made
‘Cause they fit me just right.
When people say
“Those shoes are gay”
I hit them with all my might.
I dislike
Those funny trikes
Old people like to ride.
That did not belong
Inside this song
But too bad, it sounded fine.
I was bored one day.
I couldn't play.
I had nothing else to do.
So I used that pen,
And this is the end
Of the song about my shoes.
