Story Behind the Song
"Not My Only One" was written in December of 2002 by Heather Huber, NøNe's lead guitarist. The jist of the song is telling a boyfriend that you never truly loved him. The quality of the song is poor, due to the fact that it was recorded with a karaoke machine and two $25 mics. Live, the bass and drums are not as prominent.
Lyrics
We had some good times.
I won’t deny it.
But when it comes to you, well,
I guess I’m glad we tried it.
You were caught up in feelings.
Thought that I loved you.
But I had no idea.
I should’ve been more truthful.
I led you on and I don’t know why.
I’m sorry if I made you cry.
But when it comes right down to you and me,
I don’t think it was meant to be.
You’re not my only one.
All I ever really wanted was to have some fun with you.
You’re not my only one.
Now that my play time’s over, I think I’m done with you.
You gave me compliments,
And made me smile.
But maybe we should take a break
For just a while.
With you I could pour my heart out,
But it’s just not the same.
If feelings only go one way,
Who’s left to blame?
I led you on and I don’t know why.
I’m sorry if I made you cry.
But when it comes right down to you and me,
I don’t think it was meant to be.
You’re not my only one.
All I ever really wanted was to have some fun with you.
You’re not my only one.
Now that my play time’s over, I think I’m done with you.
I’m sorry if I hurt you.
But I gotta let you go.
Now I’m free to do what I want to,
And you’ve gotta know…
You’re not my only one.
All I ever really wanted was to have some fun with you.
You’re not my only one.
Now that my play time’s over, I think I’m done with you.
You’re not my only one.
(All I ever really wanted was to have some fun with you.)
You’re not my only one.
(Now that my play time’s over, I think I’m done with you.)
You’re not my only one.
