Story Behind the Song
About working people relaxing at the weekend
and how hard it is to get the good things in life, think it will resonate with ordinary
people. Wrote this a few years ago, done in one session and after a few takes, think the producer excelled with the backing!
Lyrics
1. The best time in life,
It comes late on a Saturday.
The lights they are bright,
as you're dancing the night away.
The things we express,
at the end of the working week.
Things that we want in life,
they don't come easy.
Things that we want in life,
they don't come easy at all.
CH: And you know that you've got to get away
And you know that you've got to leave
And you know that you've got so much to do
But should you lie or deceive?
2. The love that you found,
it came late in the afternoon.
The best things in life,
they come and they go too soon.
Things that we want, never come easy
Things that we want in life,
they don't come easy
Things that we want in life,
they don't come easy at all.
CH: And you know etc.
(break)
CH: And you know etc.
