    Story Behind the Song
    Story-?, Life, love lost.
Me and Andy were jammin, and the tape was rolling...I think it was the Sony minidisc recorder...can't be sure just now. This song was in the middle of the jam...we'd just started into it, and cut it out later. It's possible we kept mixing down the tracks to add acoustic guitar and bass. Then we transferred it onto Duane's Roland where he added the wah guitar and I laid down the vocal. Not certain of the exact sequence. The digital copy was erased. We had one good copy that had been mixed down to cassette, which was lost. Later, it was recovered, copied to disc through Andy's Roland 1680, and here it is. A similar chain of events can be told for all my songs. Such is the life of a starving artist.

    Lyrics
Would not have thought it'd be hard
    When you said it's over.
Since then I have to remind myself
    That we're through.
Now I just walk through life
    Looking over my shoulder.
    Can't help but think that
    I might run into you.

    Chorus:

    I never once thought twice
    That we'd ever grow older.
    I always thought that
I'd be the man for you.
    But you said,
"Just keep your dreams on ice
and look me up when you're colder.
'Cause they'll be freezin' in hell
and the grass will be blue,
Then I'll come looking for you."
    (Looking for you)

Now, Gina said, "I'm free Friday night,
come on over." And Molly said,
"I've got just the thing for you."
This little girl's giving me the eye,
I just told her, "There aint a
single thing that you can do."

    Chorus2:
    I never once thought twice
    That we'd ever grow older.
    I always thought I could
    Make your dreams come true.
    But you said,
    "I've been living a lie
and I need to start over."
    Now you're living a lie
    With someone new,
And I'm still looking for you.
    (Looking for you)

Would not have thought it'd be hard
    When she said it's over.
Since then I have to remind myself
    That it's true.
And when I dream at night,
I dream of how I would hold her...
    (fade out)
