	Lyrics Outside the bright lights of Toronto shine a simple plan to keep me from my sleep. Red, blue and green and irony form the colours of democracies and dance into all hours of the night. So hold up this candle of resistance as I redirect the focus of my eyes, from searing screens to lonely streets where subways sing in harmony with things that could be better left unsaid. Still I’m waiting for the rain to bail me out and waiting for the day when these words will count. When I won’t have to say what I think about these new lights casting shadows over all that stands to fall. Well maybe there’s more to understanding, or maybe it’s as simple as it seems. But every time I see defeat in every homeless face I meet, illuminated underneath new lights, it reminds me of a song I never wrote and reminds me of the words which I never spoke. It forces me to say what I think about, these new lights casting shadows over all that stands to fall.
