This song attempts to take in a bit of all the old traditional blues tunes and combine them into one. Almost sung tongue in cheek, the pain of the blues is apparent. Just vocals and guitar.
CD: Absolute Custom   Label: Snappy Records
    Credits: Ryan Verthein/Dan Trudel

    Story Behind the Song
I had heard so many of the old traditional blues songs that I thought I'd put them all together into one tune, and this is it. Kind of a summary of the blues. Recorded just me and an old Gibson acoustic guitar. One take, raw, 'cause that's the way they did it back then.

    Train to San Antone
    Ryan Verthein/Dan Trudel
    2003 ASCAP

Well I keep singin the blues baby,
Oh and I got no place to go.
Ooh I keep singing blues the baby, and I got no place to go.
Well She packed up her bags and left me
took a train to San Antone.

Well I miss that little girl, oh and her sweet little kitty too
Ya I miss that little girl, ooh and her sweet little kitty too,
Well, ya shes gone and left me, now I got nothin but the blues.

Well She Packed up her bags and left me, she said I’m goin home
Got no place in this here town, goin back to San Antone

But it’s flooding down in Texas
My tears are falling down like rain
Well she ain’t comin round here no more
She’s got another man at home

Yeah she Packed up her bags and left me, she said I’m goin home
Got no place in this here town, I’m goin back to San Antone

    Oh no no no
I hate that little girl (can’t love her no more)
    Now I’ve got another woman
I don’t need her no more.
