This is about the famous seer Nostradamus. It discusses his inner feelings about the visions he had of the future, and also how he was persecuted for his visions. The powers that be don't appreciate someone having the upper hand on them. The style is a bit similar to a Pink Floyd feel with soft vocals in harmonies, with some slide guitar thrown in for accents.

    Lyrics
    The Visions of Nostradamus
    Val Serrie, July 1, 2003

Alone in my study, away from their prying
    I indulge my favorite sin
The candle is lit, the vapor is rising
    The clouds begin forming again

Sometimes I dread to to look into the future
I pray that it won’t come to be
If I tell them to act will they take my advice
Or will they just persecute me

What should I do with the visions that come to me now
What will they do if I tell them all that I’ve seen
Some things are best not revealed
    Some secrets must remain sealed

Where do they come from? Who sends these visions to me?
Forbidden pleasures of secrets known only to me
People are threatened by forces they don’t understand
So I shroud all my visions in words that will not be banned

I cannot helpit, the visions they beckon
I practice my calling each day
To carry the future is the burden I’ve chosen
From this I cannot turn away

They will not listen to any more warnings
They’ll kill me for the things that I know
I must flee to safety, but where can I run to?
They’ll find me wherever I go

What should I do with the visions that come to me now
What will they do if I tell them all that I’ve seen
Some things are best not revealed
    Some secrets must remain sealed
