    Story Behind the Song
"Interpret The Sky" was inspired by today's news and current events as well as personal struggles of singer/songwriter Leslie Clemmons. Watching the news one day, overwhelmed by the chaos of the world and events in her own life, Leslie was amazed that the weatherman could tell us where the tornados were going to hit but she didn't seem to know where her life was going next and no one could solve the problems facing peace in the middle east or the terrorism that that had now come to her home in New York City. Meditating on these issues produced "Interpret The Sky", one of her now favorite songs.

    Lyrics
He sat there overwhelmed for seven days; passed his time, looked at the Sky, at the people hurrying by. He knew what it was he had to say, knew they wouldn't listen just the same, so with eyes open wide he prayed,'I'd rather be blind'.

The answer to his prayer was no; among politicians, priests, and pundits, he stood alone. All tied up in bright red tape, pretty packages filled with petty hate, and although he spoke the truth someone in the crowd yelled shoot.

Chorus: Interpret the Sky, tell me why will it rain or shine? Interpret the sky, we all know how the tornados fly, Interpret the sky, will there be peace in the middle east? Will the children have enough to eat? How much longer will we shout for peace? Interpret the sky.

She sat there overwhelmed by her whole life. Stared at the bills, terrorist news, dirty dishes were depressing too. She wondered where her sister went, worried how she'd pay the rent,as her eyes filled with tears, she prayed,'keep my baby sister safe'.

Chorus:Interpret the sky, tell me why will it rain or shine? Interpret the sky, We all know how the tornados fly. Interpret the sky. When will we follow the golden rule? Will our children be safe at school? How much longer will we let guns rule? Interpret the sky, Interpret the sky, Interpret the sky. Tell me why...repeat chorus...
