Story Behind the Song
"it's that feeling that you get sometimes of how ugly people can be, how simple we are, the loss that that creates inside you, but seeking a way, any way, to get out of that...it's basically an escapist song.
I could go into more detail if you want.....but I think you know what I mean..."
Lyrics
We're all bone and spit
with terrible mouths we try and lift this ache
all sharp 3's and 7's, we wake in lines...
I'm all teeth and tar
with itching lungs I bend and break
All smooth reds and black
we lose these lines...
So move me, let's bathe without lines.
I dress to your words and crave when you're mine.
And you run, so you run, now just step and bleed.
All this form, in my place, crashing into me.
All these words, this design, trappings in this time,
Everything to do, but to escape this weight.
Time steals our breath and home
but how we love the way this fever tastes.
All hard splits and smiles
we create these lines...
So move me, let's bathe without lines
I dress to your words and crave when you're mine.
I want to paint you into walls: distort, shape, and redefine.
I want to drink in this afterglow, And be healed by this fire...
