	Story Behind the Song A couple of years after school, a friend convinced me to go to a local coffeehouse called Sojourner's to hear a guy from high school play. I had boycotted his "Christian" band in high school because offstage, they were anything but. He sang a song called "Virginia," quoted here, which stuck with me. We ran into everyone I'd hoped never to see again from high school, all of whom seemed to have forgotten that they'd treated me horribly and that we'd never been friends. I was reminded over and over of why I left. One girl explained to me that she was getting her degree in education; she then elbowed her boyfriend in the side and said "hopefully I won't need it, though." South Georgia at its best.
