Lyrics
CATHEDRALS IN THE DESERT
Some would say we shouldn't turn back,
But some would say we've gone off-track.
You can feel a loss of pride,
With grander ideals fallen by the wayside.
Look around, you mainly gaze in awe
At glorious hey-days of yester yore.
Back when they'd the means, the know-how,
What did they know then that we don't know now?
They're never planned to stand the test of time, those days have long gone.
Somewhere in construction or design, something went wrong.
Making mistake on mistake and they do it so fast:
Building cathedrals in the desert, and they're not made to last.
It's like the Tower of Babel, with its poor foundations.
It started right there, in the Table of Nations.
More monuments to disaster will be coming soon;
No pyramids, just temples on the moon.
Battle the storm as you stand in the rain;
Rattle the sabre, come back again.
But I for one have had my fill,
Of going in circles when not standing still.
