A solemn and somber song, with lyrics, guitar, beat, and strings. Some say it's my finest work yet. |
CD: The Rejected And Deformed
Label: No where yet
Credits: Paul Simanauskas-Lyrics, beat, strings, mixing. Magnus Harsem-Guitar |
Story Behind the Song
This was actually a very spur of the moment idea. I wrote the lyrics as I was mixing the guitar tracks to the beat. I added strings which I composed myself, and then just needed to find the right melody for the lyrics. After three semi-successful attempts, I nailed it down, I think. There's always room for improvement though, so this may not be the final version.
Lyrics
Some things are meant to be
By the stars or the heavens
And you’ll see
In the end, it’ll be alright
Where we were and where we are
How we’ve come so far
Was it fate or random chance
That we entwined in our romance
But does it matter?
When it all falls down
And do we splatter
Like when a raindrop hit’s the ground
And are we living
Like our lives are etched in stone
And are we giving
Back what we have known
To be our love….our love
Some things will never change
And you might say
That these times are very strange
And day after day
You run from what’s inside
That tears at your heart
And I’m opened wide
To play my part
But does it matter?
When it all falls down
And do we splatter
Like when a raindrop hit’s the ground
And are we living
Like our lives are etched in stone
And are we giving
Back what we have known
To be our love….our love
But did it matter?
Now that everything has gone
And now that we’ve splattered
And I stare into the dawn
And yet we’re still living
Like our lives are etched in stone
But what were we giving
To live our lives alone
Our hearts….our hearts.
