This song is about a time, not too long ago, when life was simplier, people were nicer, and music was much better. |

Story Behind the Song
Inspired by all the local punk scenes out there today, Emo music, good labels going sour, Port Charlotte Rock City, and MTV2
Lyrics
We all agree that the scene here sucks,
even a local show will cost you five bucks.
I'm counting all the bands on just one hand, and though I try I just don't understand,
why there's emo and hardcore and ghoul punk and surf.
Ska core and ska punk and punk ska and worse.
Old school and new school and the PC craze,
someone take me back to the good old days.
I haven't heard a decent comp in years,
and you can buy a Bad Religion shirt at Sears.
What ever happened to when people used to care,
about the music not the color of your hair.
Now everybody wants to sound just like NOFX.
They don't give a damn about the long-term effects.
If punk is gonna die then it's our own damn fault.
I really wish this hadn't turned into a joke.
Come on, let's go, we're gonna have a good time.
We used to hitch a ride to Rockaway Beach, Sheena,Judy, Suzy weren't all that hard to reach.
Recess In Heaven with my Surfer Girl tonight,
All Summer Long you know your friends are alright.
My Little Honda in the California Sun,
I Wanna Hold Your Hand and we'll have
Fun Fun Fun.
Hey Suburbia She's Rather Be With Me,
Now rock and roll just isn't what it used to be.
See the Ramones down at Coney Island High,
the Beach Boys were the most and Joey Ramone wasn't far behind.
It was a good thing if your band was a success,
the glory days of Lookout with the Queers and MTX.
Somebody take me back to the good old days…they're gone.
