Everybody should have a sister. Somewhere there's a sister meant for you.
Credits: Words and Music by Jean Aron

    Story Behind the Song
When relatives came to visit, it seemed that every new spouse had a sister, who had a spouse who had a sister, whose daughter had a spouse who had a sister, and so on. Pretty confusing. Have some fun with it.

    Lyrics
    SISTER CONNECTIONS
The other day while walking with my sister,
A man came up and asked us for a date.
I said, "Sorry, but I have to tell you, Mister, my sis and I are married; you're too late.
He asked us if we knew of any sisters --
Beautiful and rich and kind and sweet.
As long as she's a perfect little sister,
She's the one that he would like to meet.

Chorus: Everybody should have a sister. It doesn't matter just where or who.
But you won't know, boys, until you've kissed her,
whether she's the sister meant for you.

    I told him that my husband has a sister;
Her lovely daughters number up to four.
    One daughter has a husband and a daughter;
And the daughter also has a husband, and what's more:
Her husband has a sister with a husband
With a sister who is brave and good and true.
And maybe if you're rich and kind and handsome,
She might be the sister meant for you.

    Repeat chorus:

The man said, "That's an awful lot of sisters,
And one is really all that I can use.
Don't tell me anymore of your relations,
So many sisters, wives and daughters just confuse.
He held his ears and shook his head in panic,
And disappeared as fast as he could go.
And if he ever found the proper sister.
That is something we will never know.

    Repeat chorus:

So if by chance you know of any sister,
Beautiful and rich and kind and sweet,
Tell her there's a mister out there somewhere
Looking for a sister he can meet, tout suite.
And if someday you meet the proper sister,
You'll know just exactly what to do,
'Cause you won't really know until you've kissed her,
Whether she's the sister meant for you.

    Final chorus:
Oh, if the sister's already married, there is nothing that you can do.
But if you're rich and kind and handsome, Mister, her husband maybe has a sister, too.
