	Story Behind the Song The verse lyrics were written first. Then Les got the idea for a blues melody, with blues chords. He made a simple demo with just 2 tracks, and sent it in for a professional demo. It came back with a screaming sax line preceding the verse. Les rerecorded it using guitar for the sax. The chorus was also added at that time with the keyboard changeup. Lyrics Everyday's a different day Days that are sunny, and days of grey. People busy getting things done Solving problems on the run. Housing starts are on the rise Interest rates are on the decline. Business goes on as usual Everybody's burning fuel. The doctor looks very pale The retail clerk rings up a sale. A carpenter, he pounds a nail Never misses, never fails. And so we start a different day A day much better than yesterday. Deliveries are doing good As they always should. The road crews are doing their job The traffic is a steady throb. Children spend their day at school Learning 'bout the golden rule. While college students cram for tests Senior citizens get thier rest. So get out and earn your keep Make it for another week. Here I am just writing this song Trying not to do it wrong. So now we start a different day A day much better than yesterday.
