    Story Behind the Song
This song is a tribute to two people: Douglas Adams, and Reese Roper. Disaster Area was a band in The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy by Douglas Adams whose songs followed the traditional pattern of "boy-being meets girl-being under a silvery moon which suddenly explodes for no adequately explored reason." This then was my premise. That being the case I wanted to write in a style that would pay homage to Reese Roper of Five Iron Frenzy/Brave Saint Saturn who created the genre "Astro Rock."

    Lyrics
    Verse One:

He was an average teenage boy being
They called him loser. "You're such a freak."
His hotrod starship could do warp seven
He was an interstellar punk rocker
But the one thing that was alwasy on his mind
Was his longing for a punk rock girl being

    Verse Two:

She was an average teenage girl being
She went to parties, concerts, and movies
Her hair dyed purple, as purple as the sky
She was an interstellar punk rocker
But the one thing that was always on her mind
Was her longing for a punk rock boy being

    Chorus:

Teenage longing, the same on every planet
And yet they think that they're the only ones
It's going on the same on ever planet
Heart's reaching out to find someone

    Verse Three:

Then at a concert they both attended
The band was bustin' a punk rock rhythm
They danced the night away next to each other
Now all their hopes and dreams were coming true
And as the moon grew brighter high up in the sky
They felt a joy that they'd both been missing

    Bridge:

During a slow song they held each other
She smiled up at him and he smiled back at her
Then their lips met in a kiss of love so tender
And high up in the sky the moon exploded
