    Story Behind the Song
This song was originally titled "3 Years, 3 Girls, 3 Verses," and is about three main rejections I suffered in the last three years. It's based on the old Coca-Cola bottle caps that would say "Drink Coke Play Again" if you didn't win a free drink. This has become the theme of how I deal with rejection, at least in the song. We recorded this in in only two takes due to time constraints.

    Lyrics
    Verse One:

There's a girl that I knew way back when
We were friends, she was the first girl I ever really loved
I never knew what to say
Whenever she was near I couldn't even say her name
I talked to her just to tell her how I felt
She turned to me and she said, "I'm in love with your best friend."

    Chorus:

Time after time, the message still the same
The story of my life shall remain
    Drink Coke play again

    Verse Two:

Then I went out with a friend of mine
Time went by, it seemed that everything would work out fine
We took things nice and slow
But whether she loved me or not I thought I'd never really know
I drove for miles just to tell her how I felt
She broke my heart when she said, "Why can't we just stay good friends?"

    Verse Three:

The third girl on my list seemed like the one
Whenever she would smile my heart would pound and my hands would start to shake
    We seemed a lot alike
We went to shows and movies, and talked over three dollar coffee
She led me on, letting me feel secure
I fell for her, but she said, "We'll never be more than just friends."
