Story Behind the Song
This song was originally written for the new album, but I decided towards the end that it wasn't quite what I was going for. I've put it up on mp3.com so that people could at least hear what I spent a good deal of time on... and perhaps understand why it was several months before I uploaded anything new.
Lyrics
The song was originally intended to have lyrics, based off of 'The Resolute' - a poem I wrote at the time I started writing the song. I have typed them below.
In my origin
And my destination
I have reached for you
I have thrown my hands
Around your skin, your face
A pattern I remember
An image I have never known
I who pass through your eyes
The retina and the image
The objective light
Here, in the origin
The destination is the same
And I have never known them
As I know you right now
And I have never known you
How it is in time that we live
And how it is in life that we are
Like crossing a stream of static
Slipping through a constant dynamic
The unchanging ever-changing
Life beyond stasis
Life beyond familiar
Where we reach out for connectivity
The fusion of before and after
The beauty of our destruction
The resolute, self-collapsing
Instant at which we break down
Lose meaning, coherence
And so I am without you
And so I live within you
Reaching through time
To the timeless
