A song about a man who spent his whole life studying and now has a job and hates it and wants his time back! Sucka...
Credits: Jeremy Woods, Justin Limberger, Sumner Vanderhoof, Chris Lord

    Story Behind the Song
This song was about the path I could have taken myself if I had done what everybody wants me to do; that is, study real hard in high school, study real hard all 7 years of college, then get a desk job... I would end up hating that desk job, and there would be no way to get all the time back. A little foresight into the future if you will.

    Lyrics
    Staring at the wall
    It's pale and it's grey
    Glaring at the work
That I have in front of me
A lot of time to think
    To sit and reflect
A lot of time to cut right in
    And dissect
    The reason why I'm here
    The path that I've chosen
It's my career and when my eyes open
    Suddenly it's clear

And I spent my life doing what they told me
Stay in, be safe, and do well in school
Now I stand a man, still a child inside
And I'm thinking: Did I do it all right?
    Seven years spent in college
Now my time spent in books
    Where's my social life?
    Where's my free time?
    I don't want this
    I'll break away

    What are you saying?
This is all just like you planned
Stop all this hating here and now
    Settle down and realize
    That you're a grown man
Get back to work and turn around

    Well, look at me
Isn't this big desk just swell?
It's my own office and a shiny nameplate
    It all means nothing
    This routine is my hell
But with my chin up, I face the world and say

    Bleeding means nothing
I'll let it flow down freely

    Relax, don't slip away
    Come back down to Earth
    You could be happy someday

    The world demands blood sometimes
    Back then I'd break
But now when it looks like I might
I put my chin up, and I face the world and say
