Story Behind the Song
Written in the winter of 2002, this song relected the seach for an inner compass. How do you keep the wheels on the road, the train on the track? It was another ugly, nasty winter in New England.
Lyrics
Brother can you tell me, which road I'm on?
It's getting late and my lights aren't on.
Mother can you tell me whose song I sing?
I never played along with your piano.
I've been driving all night long,
I've been trying to get along.
Won't you hear me when I say to you?
Father can you hear me, I know your days are short.
I know you've heard them all before.
But the hills are still and the night is cold,
trees are keeping time to my radio,
this road stretches out in front of me.
I've been driving all night long,
I've been trying to get along.
Won't you hear me when I say to you?
