Surly rock tune with a distorted rhodes rhythm section and a huge guitar sound. All about the dangers of large groups of stupid people.

    Story Behind the Song
This song came about after a particularly frustrating day at work! It always has bothered me how people that follow the status quo can get their way even when they're wrong, just because people are more willing to accept ideas that don't push their minds too far from what they are comfortable with. Yelling and complaining at board meetings doesn't normally get me anywhere, so what better release for my frustrations than to write a song! I had Howie add the killer guitar part to give it a "meaner" flair and I think he was very successful. My brother Dave added the acoustic guitar part that really adds an extra dimension to the song also.

    Lyrics
Don't know how I could miss it
Woke up and it was true
Hear 'em calling the shots now
    Their words are hardly new

    Failure is the only shame
What went wrong and who's to blame
outside the lines it has to go cause
we gotta protect the status quo you see

Well their strength is in numbers
can't hack it on their own
    and their words are impressive
    while mine are monotone

but their loud and languished tale only
makes a flimsy paper veil for the
    magic boxes they declare
    when you open them up
well there ain't nothing there you see

chasing after my ideals while they
    marketed their happy meals
    mocking their simplicity but
the game has been called and the
joke is on me you see
