Story Behind the Song
This song was actually written during a Sociology class. I, John, was really bored and decided to finish a song I had started earlier that day.
The inspiration for this song came for my sociology teacher. He said that we, we being the college kids, hold the only hope for the future. As Exodus Falling, we disagree. Jesus Christ's forgiving blood is the only thing that holds our hope.
Lyrics
My time has come, I’m slowly fading, but I’m sure its for the best
At the end on my rope, with nowhere to go, fading faster than the rest
Falling faster, head on with disaster, I know this will end soon
The question is will I live through it or will I meet my doom.
It doesn’t matter what you do
It doesn’t matter what you say
All these things we go through
They will never go away
But if we put our hope in Christ
He can show us how
To live eternal life
Only blood red stains hold our hope now
I’m the one who hammered these nails so deep into your wrists
I’m the one who spat on you and beat you with my fists
I spilled your blood, you showed me love, my gain was at your loss
I shouted “Kill him” from the crowd and nailed you to that cross.
If he hadn’t loved me, I wouldn’t be here today
If he hadn’t saved me, I would have been blown away
