Story Behind the Song
There is an annoying anomoly in the mp3 of this song that I can't seem to get rid of--at the beginning of the break, most of the rest of the music ceases and a percussion line starts that pans sharply from left to right. During those first few bars in which that panning percussion is mostly the only thing audible, there is a strange sort of "laser" sound associated with it, like frequency interference. It doesn't sound bad, really, but that's not the way it's supposed to sound, and I think it distracts from the panning effect. I tried encoding this at different bitrates, sample rates, and qualities, and nothing seemed to even slightly alter this odd sound (which stops as soon as other parts of the music begin again, so that the panning percussion is no longer virtually the only thing going). It has to be a compression artifact of some kind, but I'm stumped for a way to fix it. If anyone out there has any suggestions, I'm happy to listen.
Lyrics
You're so far away,
You're so far away,
In my dreams I only see your face,
But then I wake
And every day
You're far away.
Alone tonight--
That's how I'll be without you by my side.
I dream and you dream,
And maybe there I'll find your arms tonight.
You're so far away,
You're so far away,
In my dreams I only see your face,
But then I wake
And every day
You're far away.
Inside you hold me,
I'm warm and safe as long as you are near.
At night, when I'm alone,
I close my eyes and wish that you were here.
You're so far away,
You're so far away,
In my dreams I only see your face,
But then I wake
And every day
You're far away.
Turning, turning, world is turning,
Heart and soul within me burning,
Need you with me but I'm learning,
Know I must control this yearning.
Turning, turning, world keeps turning,
All my soul within me burning,
And this distance is concerning me....
You're so far away,
You're so far away,
In my dreams I only see your face,
But then I wake
And every day
You're far away.
