A pile of guitar noise, a tempo change, and a weird solo. I don't know what I was thinking. All in a little over two minutes. |

Story Behind the Song
I wrote this in a day after struggling with another song that still isn't finished. I've been having a lot of problems thinking of other sections to throw into the structure of the song, so this song has things that may or may not make up for it: lotsa noises and a weird slow down section.
In spirt I think I ripped a tiny bit of the melody ideas from Wilco's "A Magazine Called Sunset" and "I'm Always In Love." Even though I shouldn't even mention Wilco in comparison to my crap.
This song's sorta about a guy who has a crush on a girl who lives across the street or something? I think? And she uhh doesn't notice him? Ehh, actually this could be about somebody. Who knows? I don't. Right.
I was gonna name it "Dauterive" after lonely old Bill in "King Of The Hill," but I noticed that I make a lot of titles up that aren't from the lyrics.
Lyrics
When the sun comes up I awaken.
When the sky turns blue I'm reading the news.
When it's cold outside I put on a coat.
When you smile I wave hello.
When it's dark outside I come home.
When I see a friend I hug her.
When I love someone I blow a kiss.
When you shine I wave hello.
If you don't feel compelled to wave on back,
I completely understand.
The sea is green, my face is red,
and you have another man...
When I leave the fridge door open,
when I forget to cross a T,
when I make a face that's not nice,
will I still wave you hello?
If you feel scared don't worry.
If you wear a scarf don't choke.
When I love someone I blow a kiss.
When you shine I wave hello.
