I composed the music of this song the first time I saw a willow tree (England, 1995). It was so beautiful, but it was there, alone, and it was a sad picture. This songs is a warning. It talks about a bitter willow that mourns for the forest it once dwelled. So twisted, so bitter, so rotten is its heart that will steal your soul if you dare dream its leaves. Willow's are thought to be bitter trees, and such it was portrayed the OLD MAN WILLOW in the Tolkien's novel : the lord of the rings so beware...
