Story Behind the Song
This is a song of encouragement to those who will be left
behind here on earth and will endure the time of Jacob's
Trouble, the Great Tribulation, immediately preceding the
Lord's glorious return to establish His Kingdom of Peace
and true Righteousness upon the earth. According to the
Scriptures, His bright Coming will destroy the forces of
Antichrist who persecuted the church of God during the last
3 1/2 years of world history. Israel will finally come to
know her God and His Christ in the fullness of time, and,
along with all heirs by faith to the Promises of God from
the beginning of time, will rule the earth for a thousand
years! Read about it in Revelations chapters 20-22. The
passages spoken in the song are from Mark 13, Matthew 24,
and I Thessalonians 4.
Lyrics
Lost..adrift on an endless sea;
Goin', but knowin' not where...
Dreams to guide our destiny,
Heartache to show where we've been.
Captain, please come again: we're near the end!
Time, before and behind us,
The stars, our only friends
The night shows no sign of ending
This storm could well mean our end.
Captain, please come again: we're near the end!
(Chorus) You gave up Your Life to give us the Treasure, but
now we need You most of all...Your sailors are waiting,
Captain, for Your call!
(spoken) After the tribulation of those days, shall appear
the Sign of the Son of Man in heaven; and they shall see
the Son of Man coming in the clouds with power and great
glory! and He shall send His angels with the great sound
of a trumpet and they shall gather together His elect from
the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other! And
the dead in Christ shall rise first; then we which are
alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in
the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air! and so shall we
ever be with the Lord. (Chorus) Captain,
please come again, we're near the End!
