Acoustic and Electric upbeat rock song.
CD: 10-58 : And Then...?   Label: Independent

    Story Behind the Song
The song was started during a practice with my bass player monkeying around with the original riff. I took the riff home and played with it and added lyrics. Originally recording it to the multitrack with just acoustic guitar and vocals for the demo. It evolved electrically during band practice and the end result is what you hear now. The only difference with how it's played live and the recording is the acoustic guitar which plays a prominent part in the recorded version.

The song was written over a 2 week period from original riff to completion with personal reflection contributing to the lyrics. Not a true tale of sorts, but more of feelings generated by my relationship.

The recorded version is just the drummer and myself. We unfortunately lost the original bass player to personal differences.

    Lyrics
    Cold Coffee

    That’s okay, it’s been understood
We’ve been on this subject for too long
Said the words that we thought we should
Now we don’t know who’s right and who’s wrong

I feel now we’ve yet to succeed
When things change and go on down south
You think you know just what we need
And I'm wanting you to shut your mouth

    I’ve been changing, rearranging
    Now my coffee’s colder
    This time around, going down
    I’m feeling so much older

How about you, now where do you stand?
When tonight it’s all up to you
You tell me you think it’s all planned
And saying every thing is untrue

I know what I really want
Come on, come on you know it, too
Tell me why you think I’m wrong
Makes you happy when you’re cruel

    I’ve been changing, rearranging
    Now my coffee’s colder
    This time around, going down
    I’m feeling so much older
