Story Behind the Song
Like I said before, don't you just hate to be that guy? This song is about being that guy that a girl calls when she needs to yell at someone because she can't yell at her boyfriend (usually who is really the problem.) I record all my music on a 4-track recorder. It took about 3 weeks of recording until I was satisfied.
Lyrics
You've got some problems, girl, and I know that it's hard, but you don't got to be so cruel.
You need some help, I know, to figure it all our, but I won't be taken for a fool.
And when things just ain't workin' out, you always start to scream and shout, but I can't have it be that way.
And if you look for my advice, I'll tell you once, I'll tell you twice, maybe you just need to get down on your knees and pray.
(But) Don't take it out on me.
You must have noticed that he isn't what you want. Your being taken for a ride.
The only thing you feel is love deep in your hear, but the last thing on his mind's a bride.
And it hurts, oh yes I know, when the truth begins to show, and you don't want it to be right.
But when he leaves you all alone, waiting crying by the phone, it don't explain why you're callin' me every Saturday night.
(So) Don't take it out on me.
And when the feeling all is gone, it's time for you to move along. His love ain't even worth a dime.
You're better off all by yourself, so put you're pride up on the shelf. It will get much better if you give a little time.
(And) Don't take it out on me.
