    Story Behind the Song
Growing up my father was a career military man...a "lifer"...and about every three years we'd pick up and move leaving behind all of our friends. At first as a kid I thought it sucked but as I grew older I found I had adapted to this Gypsy lifestyle and it stuck with me. I've lived in many states and even in Naples, Italy. I was born in Texas and have returned. I've been in Houston for almost seven years now. That's almost a record for me.
This song is based on this mode of living.

    Lyrics
I sit here with my bags packed
a worn out map in my hand.
Throw a dart into the air
I will go where it lands
I'll leave this town behind me
    I will go where
    my dreams guide me.

    chorus
    I have spent my life
    burning down bridges
    I have passed through time
    casting my past aside
    I have spent my days
    breaking relations
I come on like a thief in the night

    I often think about you
    where you been friend?
    how you do?
I'd like to think that maybe I
    crossed your mind
    a time or two.
Some day I will find you
and your face will remind me

    chorus
    I have spent my life
    burning down bridges
    I have passed through time
    casting my past aside
    I have spent my days
    breaking relations
I come on like a thief in the night

When the darkness comes over me
to my grave I will take the darkest secrets
    conceived by man
    conceived by me
So bury me under that tree.
So bury me under that tree.
