This song is in the groundbreaking concept album from Cloud Cult, released in 2000. The entire album is the story of one individual's life, form birth to death. "Puck", the main character (symbolic connections to the care-free forest spirit in Shakespeare's Midsummer Nights Dream) goes through a life longing for a closer connection to the earth, but inundated with commercialism and a degrading environment. This lyrical content of this song discusses the evolution of the earth, from its begininnings until now, showing how humans have had more impact than any other species in time, bringing about as much change to the biosphere in 40 years of industrialism, as that which took millions of years before. It's melody consists of addictive hooks and is framed by a catchy dance beat that makes it perfect for dance club DJs. |
