Story Behind the Song
Well... I had made up the first couple lines in the car, on the way over to one of our first practices. Stew already had stumbled on to the infectious riff. So when he started playing it for the first time, the words just kind of came out. It's evolved a little since that first time it to what we have now, probably the best recording we have of anything that’s totally original. The most ironic thing about this recording is that it took place during a severe thunder storm which is especially rare for our area.
Lyrics
there he Goes he's on his way
he's always there but he never stays
got no friends he's a godless man
lives his live in a rusty tin can
in the rain, in the rain, in the rain
we run and play
in the rain, in the rain, in the rain
so glad you came
place a stone on the soggy ground
pick it up and toss it around
pretty ghost opaque the water falls
pretty ghost open eyes and show us all
in the rain, in the rain, in the rain
we run and play
in the rain, in the rain, in the rain
hide in shame
there he Goes he's on his way
he's never there but he always stays
he lost his will and he lost his way
he gives up now and kills the day
in the rain, in the rain, in the rain
we run and play
in the rain, in the rain, in the rain
hide in shame
no more raining there's no feeling
no more raining there's no meaning
no more raining there's no feeling
no more raining there's no meaning
