Story Behind the Song
Motivation for the song... It's essentially an anti war/violence song...
How often do we find that wars are fought in the name of peace... Cockamo Jomes
Found this to be extremely ironic, and so did I.
The song was written "atop a knolly hill" - Or So says Cockamo Jomes.
It took the better part of an hour to write.
Recording was easy... The Peace Corps are real pros, and don't mess around in the studio... they get
right to business.

Lyrics
Cockamo, was a proud young man,
Crossed great rivers with his fathers clan,
He wore the boots, that his ma had sown for him,
Made of cactus leaves and a dried opossum skin
But the thousand miles of marching
Left them smoldering in the sun,
Like the feeling that he had,
When they put him on the trigger,
When they put him on the trigger,
When they put him on the trigger, Of a gun
Join the Georgia peace corps, don't be afraid,
Because you know you just might learn a thing or two,
Join the Georgia Peace Corps, Don't be afraid now boy,
Stand up tall, we'll fly that flag for you....
You've never tasted tea leaves,
Till you've strained them through his eyes,
The way he brewed a cuppa'd, bring your courage up to size
He'd study tiny flowers, finding wisdom in their sprouts,
The ants would dance across his feet,
As he laid his blanket out,
and just as morning sunshine, would pour across his dome,
The cock would crow to Cockamo, and
Bring his body,
Bring his body,
Bring his body...home..
Join the Georgia Peace Corps.. etc....
