	Story Behind the Song Keep the Faith grew from a lick that cascades upward by dividing the beat into 3s instead of the usual 2s and 4s. Called "triplets," when properly arranged they can make the "snake eat its own tail," that is they lead around a circle of rhythm by making the listener expect the last two notes in the triplet as soon as the first one is heard. Keeping the Faith, never giving up, is similarly built on automatic expectation. That is, when life throws its first curve at you, expect the next two--but hang in there dude and the cycle will eventually be broken and all will be well.
