Story Behind the Song
We used to play Richmond, VA 3 to 4 times a year, as it was only a 2 hour drive for us. Everytime we'd play there we were treated very well. The club owners, staff and radio people were all very nice to us. The first few times we played Richmond, people didn't know what to expect. We looked fairly normal for musicians a we walked into the clubs...except the later years with Spike and his color of the month 7 inch mowhawk...our resident coversation piece/freak/he won't go away until he drinks all your beers type of guy...anywho. we'd get fed and they give us beers. As we looked around the particular club we were playing in we would rate the audience on how high the level of scare factor would be for the night. Our CD's were fairly heavy but we were much heavier live. Some of the people in Richmond were frankly somewhat shocked watching us play live...one person in even commented to us later that the cool thing about watching us perform is that it looked as if something was going to get broken at any second...
Lyrics
Verse 1 On our way to a new place, sight unseen once again, we appear quite harmless, once we're in we blend. Chorus Such a friendly place, scare factor high, feel the warm embrace, scare factor high. Verse 2 Check all the arrangements, we've done this before, exits signs are clearly marked, we prepare once more. Chorus Break So many others have tried and failed, so many more phases yet to come, most things in life seem to leave an impression, one closing thought, don't try this at home. Verse 3 This is not for the weary, there is no peace of mind, not time for the faint at heart, we could break anytime. Chorus
