Story Behind the Song
Ironman:
In my time as corporate president, I felt the strain of responsibility. It gets difficult to be your true self when you are at the mercy of the banking system, governmental regulations, codes, people’s distresses, complaints, fatherhood,… We are forced to develop a thicker skin with the multitude of problems sent our way on a daily basis. Higher decisions need to be made, regardless of the inconveniences or small injustices. The weight of blame, accountability, guilt in leadership; can drag down the strongest. Vision and the road to results, requires an Armour; an Armour that can hopefully be taken off when the destination is reached.
Lyrics
Ironman
Feel like an Ironman, Running the machine
Like a running man, running for the machine
Like a marathon man, running like a machine
Be nice to Superman and just fly the scene
Be nice to be Superman, be nice to be Superman
And just fly the scene
Like a rock and roll man, strumming his machine
Like a rock and roll band, stroking the machine
Like the souls of the world, going at Godspeed
Be nice to be Superman, and just fly the scene
Godspeed, Godspeed,….
Feel like an Ironman, with a hammer in his hand
Just shaping away, just pounding away
Like a vision man, with the future in his hands
Just working away, just shaping away
Day after day
Uh huh, uh huh,…oh yeah
Feel like an Ironman, Running the machine
Like a running man, running for the machine
Like a marathon man, running like a machine
Be nice to be Superman, be nice to be Superman
And go Godspeed
Godspeed, Godspeed,…..
Uh huh, uh huh,…oh yeah
