	Story Behind the Song It reads like a metaphor (and perhaps it is), but it's also an absolutely true story! Lyrics this girl I knew back in the day owned a guitar she couldn't play it just sat there collecting dust with steel strings half turned to rust its action was absurdly high its tuning often went awry but in a pinch it could be played for an impromptu serenade all that tension was a strain on the body for it was so lightly braced I went out and bought a set made of nylon but they never were replaced I'm not sure how the story ends we could be lovers, could be friends we just sit there collecting dust with steel strings half turned to rust
