Story Behind the Song
We wrote this song to encourage people to reach out to others, and to promote good will in general.
Recording was accomplished one track at a time. Vocal tracks were recorded in John's clothes closet (what a treat, huh?). All instruments were plugged directly in to the recorder.
Special thanks to Gary Lowell for the marching snare drum cadence.
We sincerely hope you enjoy listening to this song!
Lyrics
When it gets down to the end,
will you be there with a friend?
Will you have someone to hold you and to love?
We are children of the storm,
but the Creator did adorn us;
each with the hope and need to love.
Tell me now,
what have you done to spread good will today?
Are you reaching out to someone else,
will you share yourself some way? Today?
At times I must confess,
our world is such a mess;
the probems seem so insurmountable.
So join with me, my friend,
we'll fight the good fight 'til the end.
Together we can make our lives matter.
Tell me people,
what have you done to spread good will today?
Are you reaching out to someone new,
will you share your life some way? Today?
In the stillness of the night,
when the moon is shining bright;
take a moment, turn, and look up at the stars.
It is God who put them there,
and for us he will always care,
so don't you fret while the battle rages on!
What have you done today?
What have you done today?
We'll fight the fight we know that's right
no matter what they say.
What have you done today?
What have you done today?
We'll fight the fight we know that's right
no matter what they say.
What have you done today?
What have you done today?
Take the time to share your life some way.
