    Story Behind the Song
Guess I seen too mny pretty young things in the audience and figured I better stick with my tried and true - but what if I didn't...
Song kinda wrote itself - maybe took a week of tweakin. We recorded it in Oone take. When you got professionals behind you it's easy. Matter of fact the whole album took a week from start to finish.

    Lyrics
    One Foot Out the Door
    ©2003/ J. Baldassaro

I used to have it all – kids and a wife
I never thought I would fall – it was the best kind of life
She came back stage and asked me for my autograph
I told her some stupid joke and she started to laugh

    One word led to another
I was as old as her mother
It didn’t matter to her – now the rest is a blurrrrr

    Chorus

I got – one foot in the grave one foot out the door
One foot in the grave one foot out the door

She said she’s into new age
I don’t know what that means
    She’s got a guardian angel
    She says I’ve seen
    She took me rollerblading
    I ruptured my spleen
I’m the oldest fool in spandex
    You’ve ever seen

    One word led to another
I got my butt kicked by her brother
    It didn’t matter to her
    – Now the rest is a blurrrrrrrr

    Chorus

I got – one foot in the grave one foot out the door
One foot in the grave one foot out the door
I long for my old life
Hell – I even long for my old wife
One thing’s for certain - I’m safer with herrrrr

    Break

Another town – another pretty young thing
She says she’s into our music – and likes how I sing
I kissed her hand – that’s when I noticed the ring
I’d be whole lot safer if I continued to sing

But one thing led to another
This time I’m dating her mother
One thing’s for certain – I’m safer with her

I got one foot in the grave
    – One foot out the door
    One foot in the grave
    – One foot out the door
    One foot in the grave
    – One foot out the door
I got - One foot in the grave
    –One foot out the door
